Board and Train

What is a Board and Train Program? Your dog will be at Prairie Peak, working with our Professional Dog Trainer in a structured environment to help your dog reach their training goals. Your dog will be fully immersed into a structured lifestyle that can be carried into your home. Both you and your dog will be taught and given valuable information to help live harmonious lives together.

Your dog will spend multiple hours a day with our trainer working on solving any unwanted behaviors. Developing a calm and clear state of mind and establishing a solid foundation of obedience. You will see prompt and consistent results with this training option because your dog will be working with professionals that can come up with a solution for any problems you may have.

This program is not designed for nervous/fearful dogs or for dogs with aggressive behaviors

This program is for any dog to get a head start on a foundation of obedience and to help start building a relationship with your dog that will help both you and your dog live a harmonious life.
This program is geared towards helping you and your dog find success on leash and inside your home
Can also help curve unwanted behaviors such as jumping, biting/nipping, and leash pulling
During a three week board and train, your dog will learn:
- Leash manners
- Calm behaviors in the home
- Sit, down, place, kennel
- Kennel training
- On leash obedience
- Introduction to off leash obedience
- Exposure to new environments
- Introduction to pack play
- Calm behaviors in and outside of the kennel
- Proper socialization to people and dogs

This program is not designed for nervous/fearful dogs or for dogs with aggressive behaviors

This program is for dogs that struggle with anxiety or may be fearful and have low confidence. It could also help with dogs that may be more stubborn and headstrong.
This program includes everything the three week program includes plus:
- Proper conditioning to an e-collar
- Off leash obedience
- An extra week of practice and repetition
- Proofing to new environments
- Grooming desensitization
- Calm kennel manners
- Building confidence in new environments

This program is for dogs with high levels of anxiety, leash and/or dog reactivity, and food or kennel aggression.

*Meet and greet is required for any dog with reactivity or aggression*

This program can help diagnose and come up with a plan for dogs that struggle with high levels of anxiety, leash or dog reactivity. It will also help you and your dog learn how to work through and manage reactivity.
This program includes everything in the four week program plus:
- Proper muzzle conditioning
- Kennel training for dogs that break out of wire kennels
- Feeding desensitization where otherwise aggressive/resource guarding
- Loose leash walking where otherwise lunging and barking

This program is for advanced proficiency in aggressive behaviors such as dog aggression, human aggression, and reactivity.

*Meet and greet is required for any dogs with reactivity or aggression*

This program includes everything in the six week program plus:
- Neutrality on leash to people and dogs
- Public area training to proof new behaviors and build confidence
- Proofing down and place on and off leash for longer durations and more distance off leash
- Vehicle loading and unloading
- One hour go home session in facility
- One hour in home or in public session to ensure the transition back home or in public goes smoothly

Requirements

6+ months old (in-tact dogs, in-heat females, and all breeds allowed)
Please budget for the cost of a high quality e collar($200) and prong collar($38). Various high quality options to be purchased at Prairie Peak. If you are considering hiring us but are unsure about e-collar training tools or want to learn more please call us.
A non refundable training ticket will be sold to hold your spot.
Vaccination records showing current Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella to be emailed over to fetcherstraining@gmail.com prior to reservation.

All Board and Trains will include :

4 foot biothane leash
Treat pouch
Small bag of treats
A one hour private training lesson every two weeks to help teach you and your dog how to work as a team
A one hour go home lesson
Weekly updates
A one hour follow up training session in home or at the facility
Follow ups after going home to ensure the transition back home goes as smoothly as possibly
Hands-on handling and relationship building between the owners and their dog
